The Orangewood Foundation is launching a new event to support its mission to help foster youth become independent adults. Known as the Orangewood Adventure Challenge, the event provides an opportunity for teams to compete in an exciting race while raising funds for college scholarships for former foster children.
The first Orangewood Adventure Challenge will be held at Crystal Cove State Park in Laguna Beach, California, at 8am on Saturday, October 15th, 2016. Modeled after another such race in Australia, the challenge involves sports such as mountain biking, running, and kayaking, and covers a course of about 25 miles A dinner will be held from 5 to 7pm the day before the race, where participants will receive course information, a map, and tracking equipment.
