Now in its sixth decade of operation, Donzi is a boat-manufacturing company that was founded by Donald “Donzi” Aronow in Miami in 1964. A successful commercial developer, Aronow retired from his New Jersey-based company in 1961 and moved to Miami, where he began racing powerboats as a hobby.
Aronow founded his first boat company, Formula Marine, a year after arriving in the city, and he quickly made a name for himself as an accomplished speedboat racer and designer. He was perhaps most well known for his sleek and speedy Cigarette boat, which is now a generic term applied to many high-performance speedboats.
Over the years, several Donzi models have been driven by boat racers to win racing competitions around the world. Today, Donzi boats continue to be in high demand, and the company produces a variety of models, ranging from 27 to 43 feet in length.
